What’s Happening at the Mudgee Library

At last week’s meeting, Rachel Carr (Librarian) with Mid-Western Regional Council was our guest speaker. Rachel gave us an update on the services available at the Mudgee library.

The library provides free access to computers and WiFi for public use. Computer bookings can be made either in person or by phoning the library and a 30 minute time slot will be allocated, depending on availability. No password is required for WiFi access, simply open a browser and accept the terms & conditions of use after joining the WiFi network.

The library also provides, at a fee, photocopying, scanning, faxing and laminating services. Additionally, there are two rooms available for hire during library hours (Mon-Fri: 10am-5.30pm, Sat: 9.30am-12pm).

Mudgee Library Meeting Room Includes rectangular table and six chairs. Mudgee Library Training Room Larger meeting room with kitchenette and projector facilities. Seats 24 around four tables or, 30 in a lecture-style layout. Eight laptops are available on request.

Rachel explained that the Mobile Library visits primary schools, nursing homes, housebound residents and outlying villages across the region once every three weeks. Anyone who has difficulty in getting to the library may be able to access this service.

Rachel also explained the e Collection (all free), children’s programs, inter library loans, local & family history and craft activities.
