Mudgee Disability Support Service (MDSS) started 26 years ago. TAFE helped built the new home.

The group aims to maximise life’s opportunities for persons with a disability by providing support, training and guided assistance for them to meet their individual goals and aspirations. They cover the Mid-Western area including Mudgee, Gulgong and Kandos.

Government cut funding in 2013, means that there will be no more funding in 2018. MDSS needs to run as business and promote themselves from there on.

MDSS has 4 clients at home accommodation and its core strength is in caring for people with intellectual disability. It also has respite care, programs for transitioning to work and day program (maximising life’s opportunity for people with disabilities).
