Back in March you will recall that Ruston Smith, the President of the Rotary Club of Wellington turned up at Mudgee Library with a cheque for $5,054 towards the Central West Bushfire Disaster Relief fund.
In making the donation, Ruston explained that the Wellington Club had been keeping money aside in a special account to cater for an emergency situation. He said “We’ve had the view for a number of years now that one day it will happen to us and while this hasn’t happened in our area as such it’s our neighbours.”
We were staggered and humbled by the generosity of our Wellington friends. Last week we could hardly believe our eyes when a further online donation of $4,000 was made by the Wellington Rotary Club to the Disaster Relief fund with the simple instruction “please use for Primary Producers who have no other source of income”.
Thank you to the wonderful Rotarians and supporters of the Wellington Rotary Club.
