Remote “Changing of the Guard”

The Rotary Club of Mudgee created a new first on Tuesday 30 June 2020 when for the first time in more than 80 years the Changeover of Club leadership happened remotely. Covid-19 has created new challenges for the Club in 2020 with regular meetings moving on-line.  The meeting was lead by member, Graham Taylor.

Incoming President, Des Dowdy, said “This is a dynamic and growing Rotary Club which has adapted well to the new challenges of 2020”. The Club welcomed Des Dowdy and his new leadership team using Zoom with 20 members and District leadership participating.

Past President, Ross Hearne, commented “We have grown the Club once more in 2019/20 and also raised in excess of $20,000 for the local community as a result of activities which included monthly movies, the Mudgee Garden Spectacular and the Mudgee Maths Challenge”

Two members of the Club, Bob Colley and Val Webb, were also recognised during the meeting with the Award of Paul Harris Fellowships, an award which recognises outstanding contributions to Rotary and the Community.
