The operation of the Mudgee Town hall cinema is coordinated between the two rotary clubs of Mudgee and the council.
The first year of the operation has been a huge success for the community, bringing in a triple fold benefit to the community. Latest report presented to council suggests,
- The total volunteer hours contributed by Mudgee rotarians is equivalent to paid staff hours of $43,560 per annum. Thus represents a significant savings to rate payers’ fund.
- The rotarians raised $9,628.40 from sales of popcorn and candy bar. All these proceedings are used for funding various community projects, charity and health causes.
- The cinema programs bring enjoyment to adults and children and the region and the profits from ticket sales of $16,290 are contributed back to the community.
