Mudgee Maths Challenge is On Again

The Mudgee Mathematics Minds (M3) challenge will again take place on the 17th October 2017, 10:00 AM at St Matthews Central School, Mudgee. Teams with students from late Primary to High School from local schools in the region have been invited to participate.

Twenty two teams comprising of eighty eight students have already registered to participate in this year’s event.

The Maths Challenge is a project of the Rotary Club of Mudgee and aims to foster numeracy as a life skill in day to day life.

Sponsors Rotary Clubs of Mudgee and Mudgee Sunrise, KEPCO, YanCoal, Peabody Energy  and St Matthews School have generously donated funds for prizes, trophies, medals and certificates to be given to participants with total prize money of over $5,250. Schools are able to use the funds for Mathematics Enhancement Programs within the school and to purchase other resources as needed.

Competition starts at 10 am, and a BBQ lunch is provided to participants and teachers at 12:30 to rejuvenate tired brains. The competition will conclude at 2PM after presentation of awards.  Parents and supporters are welcome to attend the competition.
