Our club’s director of community service, Peter Brennan, has been busy gathering support for the upcoming MHERV visit to Mudgee. Five of our club members have put their hand up to help. MHERV is Men’s Health Education Rural Van.
Peter has approached council general manager about MHERV, the GM is supportive of the project and has allocated the parking at the Stable in Market street. Peter has also contacted local police about the event and is organising publicity/interview with local radio and newspaper. Accommodation for the nurse is also being organised.
MHERV provides health checks for men in rural areas, free of charge. The main problem is that men tend to delay health checks and think that they are healthy and haven’t seen doctors for years, unaware of the importance of early detection of health issues.
Come and visit MHERV at the Stable, market street, next to council building, between 15 and 16 June 2018.
