Garden Festival Set for Spring

By Garry Connelly OAM

Our Club has arranged for a regular fortnightly article in the Mudgee Guardian. Garry Connelly has kindly agreed to write the article and his latest report is shown below.

Here’s some exciting news for all garden lovers, environmental lovers and just plain lovers. Mudgee Rotary have plans well under way for a fabulous garden festival in spring. After some vigorous discussion, we have now settled on a title for the event, the Mudgee Garden Spectacular.

Six local iconic gardens have been selected for inspection over the weekend of October 13 – 14. The local branch of the CWA have stepped up with support by offering to provide lunch at two of the gardens.

Proceeds from the event will be distributed to various lo-cal organisations who provide support for community health and youth education. All you need do for now is save the date in your diary.

Coming up

My next report will be the outcome from a presentation by John Bentley, Chair of the Mudgee Health Council re the new Mudgee Hospital. John really gave us the latest information in detail and you will be amazed at what we are getting. Don’t miss this report. I’m sure this posting will include information not yet released.

As a relative new member of Mudgee Rotary, I’m starting to think this organisation has been a well-kept secret. Not anymore. I think the word is out that these weekly meetings are always a great mix of informed information from a first class guest speaker, and at the same time, a lot of laughter and social interaction.

Toss in a superb meal at the Golf Club and you end up with a really enjoyable and informative evening.

Just turn up at 6:30pm every Tuesday evening at the Mudgee Golf Club. I’m sure you will be made very welcome.
