Club Christmas party 2017

The Christmas party on Friday was lively with buzzing talk filling the residence of Bob and Sally Colley.

Bob Stanley shared a humorous tale by opening a chapter in history of our club. He rewound the clock back 17 years ago when Bob Kearins wrote these computer jargon. Here are some interpretations of computer terms that Bob S read out:

LogOut means unloading wood from the ute

Mouse: the thing that eats grains in silos,

Chip: slice potatoes, Microchip: left over from chips.

Cursor: someone who swears a lot

Monitor: keeping eye on the barbie

Sally introduced some trivia and we sang and guessed some Christmas songs. We also made a first attempt in singing “Fellowship of Rotary” that I made to the tune of “Do you hear the people sing” – Barbara and several members are convinced that practice will make it perfect on the next occasion.

I’d like to thank Bob and Sally for hosting this year’s party and all the “Christmas elves” who helped with the preparation. It was greatly appreciated by everyone.

I’d like to express my appreciation to the members for their support and guidance during the first half of my President’s year.

During January, there will be Movies, BBQs, Retirement Village visits, and Meals on Wheels. Arrangements for these events will be handled by email.

I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
