Mudgee architect, Barbara Hickson was our guest speaker at last week’s meeting. In 2015, Barbara addressed our Club on aspects of heritage conservation but last week, spoke about her other passion, to help the people of Nepal.
After travelling to Nepal, Barbara became involved in her own projects in partnership with Plan International, helping rebuild; classrooms, amenities , a school wall to form a school compound, and to meet her sponsored child and his family.
Barbara is hoping to return to Nepal in 2019 to further her association with the country and explore how she may assist adolescent girls achieve more regular school attendance.
