Last week (27 February 2018) we surprised our sergeant, Athol, with a “special “ birthday celebration. Thanks to wife, Chloda, we were able to get a bit of insight into Athol’s earlier years including his cricketing ability as an opening batsman.
Although it may be inappropriate to mention Athol’s age he is reminded that turning 70 is just like turning 20(in Celsius).
For once, in anticipation of some serious cross fines, it was a subdued Athol who performed the sergeant duties.
Thanks to Chloda for arranging the antipasto at the start the meeting. It was appreciated by all the members and visitors.
