While in town we only have to turn on a tap for water, many of Mudgee’s farmers and their families no longer have this essential daily resource available. One of the results of the on-going drought is that for many, valuable time and dollars are being used daily to transport, often small amounts of water for domestic use.
Using funds generated from the recent Mudgee Garden Spectacular, the Rotary Club of Mudgee has donated $5,500 to local farmer’s assistance group, We Care, to provide bulk water supply to local farming families in need of this critical resource. Donna Collins, Manager of We Care has an immediate need for this type of assistance and has many examples. Donna Collins said” I have one family in great difficulty right now that I will be able to help as a result of this donation”.
Donna thanked Rotary and said” If it wasn’t for the Mid-Western Rotary Clubs, We Care would never have been able to get our operation running. We are very thankful for the on-going support”
