The Rotary Club of Mudgee held the 78th annual Changeover Dinner on Friday 26th June 2015 at the Mudgee Golf Club.
The event marked a yearly change to a new executive team of the club which will start their duties on the 1st July 2015. This year event was attended by Rotarians from the region. Master of Ceremony Bob Kearins kicked start the proceedings, followed by president report, Jan O’Brien.
Jan praised the efforts of all rotarians for a successful year and thank the community of Mudgee for their support. A special thanks to rotary exchange students host families, Railene and Darren, Terri and Glenn and Cathy and Errol. Highlights of the year include assistance to Western Care Lodge’s accommodation for cancer patients, Mudgee hospital palliative care, Shelter box for Nepal, children affected by Ebola in Sierra Leone and to PCYC for a much needed renovation. Regular charitable and volunteering activities are continuing with Christmas Carols, town hall movies, meals on wheels, mental health, charity golf day and sponsoring Honeywell engineering students. Jan welcomed new members and wished the new team led by president elect Tim Bickford every success.
District Governor Gerard McMillan presented both Jan O’Brien and Des Dowdy the Paul Harris Fellow award for their service to Rotary and the community.
