Lauren Flack shared her experience as a Rotary exchange student in a Mudgee Rotary dinner on Tuesday night, She was allocated a spot in Germany, which she took based on wanting to learn more about cultures outside Australia, rather than selecting preferences based on a country.
Lauren was living in the town called AALEN, near Stuttgart, Rotary district 1830. She stayed with the Thiess and Sauter family, and made friends with other exchange students. Lauren talked about her activities e.g. tour around Europe and skiing, food and how things are different in Germany: for example, excellent train networks, etc.
It was a life changing experience and indeed an adventure that Lauren never forgets. She is extremely happy and thankful for the sponsorship by the Rotary Club of Mudgee.
