On Friday 25 June, the Club’s Annual Changeover Dinner was held at Di Lusso Estate Winery. Master of Ceremonies for the evening was Rotarian Garry Connelly OAM, who engaged the crowd with an appropriate balance of humour and diplomacy.
Outgoing President, Des Dowdy, thanked all the club members for their enthusiasm and help over the past 12 months. Although the year was impacted by Covid restrictions, Des praised the Club’s capacity to adapt its activities and, was pleased the year ended in a far better position than thought possible back in July last year.
District Governor David Roach, together with District Governor Elect Amanda Roach, inducted incoming Club President, Peter Windeyer. Peter who was previously president of the Club in 2000-01 introduced the Board members that will help guide the Club over the next year.
Club Members, Elly Rands and Graham Taylor were also recognised as the Club’s latest Paul Harris Fellows at this Changeover dinner.
Elly and Graham epitomise everything that is good about Rotary. They both demonstrate commitment to the organisation, have a strong work ethic, are both wonderful team players and do their work with a high level of compassion and consideration for others. District Governor Elect, Amanda Roach, presented Elly with her Award and Graham was presented his Award which is his third and also second Sapphire by current District Governor, David Roach.
Club members and guests had a very enjoyable evening at this great location in the Mudgee region.
